The New Citizen Kane, stage name of singer, songwriter, and producer Kane Luke, emerged from London in 2010 after his departure from Milan's Fuorifase Records in 2008, having previously worked under his real name and the Discokane monicker also, with a vision to merge music, fashion, pop culture, and visual arts, Kane's debut album in 2014 drew visual inspiration from the classic film "Citizen Kane" while sonically blending 80s and 90s house, dance, and synth pop sounds.. His work has been likened to that of George Michael, Depeche Mode, and Pet Shop Boys.
Kane’s entertainment career began at 17 on the Dublin theatre circuit, and by 18, he recorded his first EP “Now Or Never” in London. His multifaceted career included modeling, acting, and studying sound engineering, leading to a pivotal moment in 2006 when he signed with Fuorifase. His 2008 club hit “Don’t Feel No Shame” topped charts and earned DJ acclaim. After a successful stint in Italy and Spain with hits like “Spun Like Sugar,” Kane relocated to London, rebranding as The New Citizen Kane. His 2014 album "It's Not Science... It's A Feeling" and subsequent EPs, including “Invention” and collaborations like “The Chase” with DJ Diass, solidified his deserved place in the music scene. Known for vibrant live performances at festivals like Sonar and Secret Garden Party, Kane continues to captivate audiences with his dynamic artistry.
Now, almost a decade after his last release, Kane made a surprise comeback with the "Endless Summer Serenade" EP. The 5 track EP, described by one critic as "a sonic embrace, blurring genre lines and creating a refreshing experience that both honours his past work and pushes his sound in new directions", while another described the work as "a celebration of life’s simple pleasures, capturing the essence of summer and the joy of a love that feels both fresh and timeless".

Released August 23rd 2024, "Endless Summer" creates the perfect sonic impression of its title. The track heartens with a warm atmosphere, tinged with an appealing optimism. Laid at a relaxed 93 BPM, the r&b centric tune subtly interlaces electro & Bossa Nova elements, building from a mid-tempo jam to feel-good anthem!
Likewise the video is a montage of Kane's personal video recordings from travels over the last couple of years - a chance to get to know the man behind the music.
A huge MariahCarey fan, Kane wanted to pay tribute to the queen with a unique rework of this classic.
The original “Dreamlover” is a sweet, uplifting track full of the naiveté of someone in their 20s, but Kane wanted to revisit those lyrics & call for a dreamlover from the POV of someone in their 40s… "My version is melancholy electro-pop, full of longing & desire for meaningful connection, but no longer bright eyed as in my youth" he explains.
The song's strong rhythmic pulse perfectly blends electronic, hip-hop, and house elements.
The hook "Sometime Underground big beat going round & round" sets a hypnotic foundation that interacts well with the confident and euphoric mood.
The lyrics evoke rich, sensory imagery and feelings of entrapment and release, conveying themes of liberation and introspection, blending seamlessly with the carefree beats. With a catchy chant-like delivery, the chorus is memorable and reinforces the central theme of self-revelation.
